Some sessions stay with you long after you pack up your camera. This was one of them.

This generational motherhood session took place at Vaughters Farm in Stonecrest, Georgia, a quiet stretch of open land just east of Atlanta that feels worlds away from the busy pace of everyday life. With wide fields, weathered barns, and space to slow down, it’s the kind of place that invites families to settle in and simply be together.

Hillary actually found me through Google while searching for a family photographer. She lives in North Georgia, I’m based in Middle Georgia, and we decided to meet halfway. Vaughters Farm sits comfortably in the Atlanta metro area, making it an easy and meaningful meeting point for families coming from different parts of the state.

Why Generational Motherhood Sessions Matter

There’s something grounding about photographing multiple generations of women together. A grandmother who has lived through seasons a mama is currently navigating. A daughter who feels safest wrapped up in the people who know her best.

This session wasn’t about stiff posing or perfect smiles. It was about closeness. Hands resting on shoulders. A little girl moving freely between her mom and her grandmother, exactly as she is right now. These are the moments that often feel ordinary in real time, until one day you realize how rare and meaningful they were.

Vaughters Farm as a Backdrop for Motherhood Photography

Vaughters Farm in Stonecrest, GA, is one of my favorite locations for motherhood and family photography, especially for Atlanta-area families who want something quieter and more open. The fields give kids room to move. The barns add character without distraction. And the evening light settles in softly, which works beautifully for connection-focused sessions.

It’s an ideal location for generational family photos, motherhood sessions, and families who want an outdoor setting that feels relaxed and unforced, even when meeting from different cities.

Meeting Families Where They Are

What stood out most about this session was the intention behind it. A mama willing to travel because this season mattered. A grandmother fully present. A little girl who felt completely at ease.

That’s how I approach every session. Whether you’re local to Middle Georgia, coming from North Georgia, or traveling from the Atlanta metro area, the experience is designed to feel steady and supportive. You don’t need to have everything figured out ahead of time. We talk it through, choose a location that fits, and let the session unfold naturally.

A Session Rooted in Connection

This motherhood session wasn’t rushed. There was time to walk the field, sit in the grass, and let moments happen without forcing them. The result was a gallery that reflects who they are right now. Warm, honest, and connected.

If you’ve been thinking about a motherhood or generational family session and wondering if it’s worth making the time, this is your reminder that it is. These years layer quickly, and being photographed together in the middle of them matters more than we often realize.
