Unraveling the Timeless Charm

Indian Springs is one of the oldest state parks in the United States. Named for the spring water local to the area and the native people who collected it for its healing qualities, Indian Springs was once a bustling resort town. Visitors today can still sample the spring water flowing inside the stone Spring House and taste a bit of natural history for themselves!

There are plenty of recreational activities for visitors, including walking nature trails or biking to the nearby Dauset Trails. There is also a small museum dedicated to Indian Springs history and the Creek Indians that is open seasonally.

Generations have used the park’s mineral water flowing from natural artesian springs for its claimed homeopathic qualities. As such, Indian Springs has always seen a steady flow of people coming to collect water, seeking healing from this unique natural marvel.

The park is full of natural beauty, including:

  • An idyllic stone bridge that arches over a rocky river,
  • Large stone pavilions are ideal for hosting events of all sizes and
  • A beautiful lake that reflects gorgeous seasonal colors as the leaves change in autumn.

It perfectly intersects history, natural beauty, and recreational opportunities.
